Calculation: energy per buffer E = ½·m·v², with m the mass on one buffer and v the impact speed. LT: m = (crane − crab)/2 + crab × (span − hook approach)/span. CT: m = crab/2. The model is checked for energy per stroke, end force, deceleration limit of the standard and temperature. All units SI.
